This workshop takes an in-depth look at the common and unique ADA-accessible elements found in hotels, motels, inns, restaurants, and similar facilities.
You’ll get an overview of other specialty transient lodging and explore standards and regulations for scoping and technical requirements. You’ll review best practices in meeting access requirements and see examples of both successful design solutions and unsuccessful noncompliant solutions. You’ll leave this workshop with a better understanding of using illustrated documents with regulatory call-outs, diagrams, and photographic examples.
- Gain a better understanding of technical and scoping access requirements and their impact on guest rooms for mobility features, communication features, and non-mobility guest rooms.
- Learn how to meet access requirements for pools, spas, and fitness centers, and identify what needs to be addressed when these elements already exist in a facility.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of access parameters for circulation paths and aisles for the retail and dining areas.
- Get an overview of other building types that also use the access requirements for hotels, motels, and inns.
